A love of good wine turned into a love of great events

It all started with a glass of red.

We’re Mikaela and Chloe, best friends, co-founders, and the kind of people who will happily turn “just one drink” into a whole evening. We’ve always bonded over a good bottle of wine, beautiful settings and finding those tucked-away places that make you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

You know the kind of place we mean. You walk in and instantly think, yep, this is it. The lighting is warm, the music is just right, the table makes you want to sit down and stay awhile. Nothing feels forced, but every little detail seems to belong. We’ve always noticed those things… the feeling a place gives you before you’ve even ordered and we’ve spent years talking about what makes them work.

That feeling is where Salt & Citrus Events began.

We created Salt & Citrus Events because, when it came to celebrating with our own people, we wanted more than a few tables and decorations. We wanted to make the kind of setting that brings everyone together and gives the day its own personality. Somewhere that feels relaxed and welcoming but still has those thoughtful details that make people stop, look around and say wow.

For us, a beautiful event isn’t about making everything look perfect for a photo. It’s about how it feels to be there. It’s the table that makes those arrival-nerves disappear; the first drink poured as people settle in; the music that starts softly and gets louder as the afternoon rolls on. It’s the moment you realise nobody’s checking the time, the sun’s starting to set and the people you love are still right there with you.

We love rich textures, thoughtful colour, flowers with a little wildness to them, and details that feel personal rather than pulled from a checklist. We want every event to feel considered and beautifully put together.

From long lunches to golden-hour celebrations and the moments that carry on into the night, we create events with a lot of personality. Salt & Citrus Events was born from a love of good events for the people who love to host great events.
